| Reston, VA . -- 5/30/2008 --
The Office of Head Start has selected Cleverex Systems to be the provider of ongoing maintenance and development of the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC) over the next four years. Cleverex has provided technology services at the very start of the ECLKC project which has quickly matured over the years into a sophisticated online resource which connects people and collects and disseminate early childhood education content to all members of the community. The competitive contract was awarded in late May, and Cleverex will be providing these services as the incumbent to the project.
In this new contract, Cleverex will be maintaining the current features and developing new technology for the Office of Head Start’s ECLKC which include a vast array of growth and development resources aimed at enriching the Head Start agencies and early childhood education providers.
Some of the latest features released on the site include; a shopping cart functionality, allowing users to “shop for” free information resources and print materials they would like shipped to their agency; collaborative workspaces, giving users the opportunity to share information and ideas in virtual workspaces; and advanced searching techniques, providing users the ability to target specific information needed in an easy to use interface. Ongoing maintenance will also focus on streamlining all existing tools and features in the hopes to make the site even more user-friendly and accessible by all members of the community.
Along with the ongoing maintenance, Cleverex will also be focusing on many new and exciting developments that will occur over the next few years. A stronger emphasis on community knowledge sharing through the use of interactive tools will help bridge Head Start communities from across the nation. eConferencing tools will allow for advanced user interaction by allowing users to look, see and hear presentations and conferences located in other parts of the country. Cleverex will be enhancing the metadata management workflow allowing the metadata to be managed and organized more efficiently, ensuring that all of the information resources are disseminated and searchable at advanced levels. Emphasis on streamlining the user interface and enhancing the overall user experience will be a focus with the new contract award as well.
The Cleverex project team is extremely excited for this opportunity to once again work closely with the Office of Head Start and to continue to develop and enhance the ECLKC, ensuring that it reaches its maximum potential and delivers needed resources to the Head Start community. |
